GraceLife Kids Ministries

Life Groups

GraceLife Kids offer Life Groups for ages two through 5th grade.

  • Preschoolers (2 through Kindergarten) have two curriculums, Gospel Project at the 9:30 am hour and DiscipleLand at the 11:00 am hour.
  • Elementary (1st-5th Grade) rotate between LifeGroup and Children’s Worship

Gospel Project
The Gospel Project for Preschool takes preschoolers on a chronological journey through God’s big story—the story of redemption weaved through Scripture, from Genesis to Revelation. When preschoolers truly experience the gospel they are forever changed. It is the gospel, not good behavior, that transforms hearts. The gospel changes everything.

DiscipleLand
DiscipleLand for preschoolers discover who God is, what He is like, and what He can do. Kids learn that the Lord created everything for His glory. Children come to know and love the God who created them.

Children's Worship

One of the highlights of many of our children’s weeks is Children’s Worship. During this time, children enjoy a special message, music, and videos that are designed to communicate the timeless truths of Christ in a way children can readily understand.

Awana

Each Wednesday during the school year, our preschoolers are involved in Awana. The goal of Awana is “to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him.”  Bees and Cubbies clubs emphasize learning Scripture in a fun environment. There is also a Bible story, music, craft, and snack each week. To join Awana, a preschooler must be 2 years old by September 1.

  • Bees — 2 years old
  • Cubbies — 3-4 years old
  • Sparks — Kindergarten through 2nd grade
  • T&T — 3rd though 6th grade

Upward

Boys and girls in kindergarten through 6th grade can participate in Upward Basketball and Cheerleading here at GraceLife. This is an evangelistic league that focuses on sportsmanship, equal playing time and teaching that every child is a winner while learning the game of basketball and the sport of cheerleading. The Gospel is shared with the participants during the course of the season

Co-op

As the homeschool ministry of GraceLife Baptist Church our desire is to encourage DEEPER relationships and WIDER educational experiences for homeschool families of the New River Valley. By sharing our gifts and talents we offer a low cost co-op with academic and enrichment classes for the whole family. We recognize homeschooling is hard work and we want to lighten the load, not add to it.  Our desire is to supplement what each family is already doing at home, not direct it.

Birth-One’s

Our team of baby rockers are ready to serve you and take care of your sweet babies. They do a wonderful job at keeping them satisfied and well take care of while you enjoy Life Group class and/or Worship Service.

If you don’t feel comfortable leaving your baby with us yet we have a very nice Mother’s Room available on the main floor in Room 104. There is a changing table, water, rockers, and the sermon on the TV to meet all of your needs.

Two’s-Kindergarten

We have age graded classrooms from two years through Kindergarten in our preschool wing. They have opportunity to learn God’s Word while playing with their peers. Often times during warmer days they get outside play time on the ark playground. We have several other ministry opportunities for this age as well as many preschool special events throughout the year.

1st-5th Graders

For our elementary kids we have grade appropriate Life Groups that are following along in the Gospel Project curriculum. The students rotate to and from Children’s Worship between the 9:30 and 11:00 am hours. Children’s Worship mimics the adult version of Sunday morning worship with song and praise, prayer, offering and a message from Pastor Dave. Watching videos relevant to the morning message, group discussions and games are also included in this time.
