We believe strongly that Jesus’ command to reach the world with the Gospel begins here. Below, you will find just a sample of some of the local outreach programs and ministries we participate with.
We have a number of individuals who visit individuals who are confined to their homes and assisted living facilities due to illness. These groups meet at various times and locations to minister to as many as possible.
Every summer, we devote one evening to a massive outreach and ministry event called Helping Hands. During the course of the evening, we provide economically disenfranchised individuals in the community with everything from produce, hair cuts, oil changes, hygiene products, hot dogs and other baked goods, all at no cost to them. Throughout the evening, our volunteers seek to make sure that we are meeting not only physical needs, but also spiritual needs as we seek to pray with and share the Gospel with those in attendance.
Various Life Groups and age-stage ministries participate in other local service projects such as landscaping and cleaning for people whose yards are in violation of town ordinances, repairing homes damaged by fires, etc. as God makes these opportunities available. Many of these needs are brought to our attention by the Dept. of Social Services in Christiansburg, and we are more than happy to share the love of Jesus with whomever we come into contact with.
