“…Let the little children to come to me and do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”
~ Mark 10:14

At GraceLife Baptist Church, we feel that one of our greatest responsibilities is to assist families in raising their children in a godly manner. To that end, we have developed a number of different avenues that are designed to supplement what parents are already doing at home. Here is a summary of what your son/daughter will be able to participate in year.

Sunday Mornings

9:30 Bible Study/Life Group Hour

The elementary students will be using curriculum from Discipleland. The 1st graders will be learning about Family Life with God. They will study what life was like in Bible times families by studying 12 truths about the God who loves and cares for families. The 2nd graders will learn about God’s Word – how the Bible was formed and how to use it! The 3rd graders will focus on the life of Jesus. The 4th and 5th graders will finish a study of the book of Acts and then learn from Old Testament heroes.

10:30 Game Time/Transition to worship

Each Sunday morning there will be a 20 minute transition time between Life Groups and Children’s Worship. During this time boys and girls are invited to play a game together in Room 211 led by one of our Children’s Worship leaders.

10:50 Children’s Worship in Room 212

One of the highlights of many of our children’s weeks is Children’s Worship. During this time, children enjoy a special message, music, and videos that are designed to communicate the timeless truths of Christ in a way children can readily understand.

At the end of Children’s Worship each week the 4th-5th graders will be dismissed on their own to meet their parents. The 1st-3rd graders will need to be picked up by a parent before they can leave the children’s worship room.

Wednesday Evenings

Each Wednesday evening during the school year boys and girls ages 2 through the 6th grade will be able to participate in the Awana ministry at GraceLife. Awana will run from 6:30-8:00 each Wednesday night. The goal of Awana is to “reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him.” Each week is divided into three segments – a story time (hearing God’s Word on an age appropriate level), handbook time (reciting verses to an adult leader that have been studied at home, children learn at their own pace and receive awards), and game time (high energy and fun games).

To add an extra layer of fun, we often have special theme nights in Awana throughout the year.

Upward Basketball

Boys and girls in kindergarten through 8th grade can participate in Upward Basketball here at GraceLife. This is an evangelistic basketball league that focuses on sportsmanship, equal playing time and teaching that every child is a winner while learning the game of basketball. The Gospel is shared with the players during the course of the season. Click the basketball in the right column of this page to go directly to the Upward site for more information.

Other Activities

Periodically there will be fellowship or mission activities that the elementary children can participate in throughout the year. These activities will be promoted through the church bulletin and website.

If you have any questions about any of these weekly opportunities please feel free to contact Pastor Dave at the church office at 382-2160 or by email at [email protected].
